Klang Valley’s Newest Radio Station – Capital FM 88.9– Takes to the Air December 1st 2007
Kuala Lumpur, October 10 2007 – Capital FM Sdn Bhd, a joint venture company between ISY Holdings Sdn Bhd and Multimedia Distribution and Marketing Sdn Bhd today announced the launch of a new radio station – Capital FM 88.9. It is expected to take on the FM airwaves at 88.9 from December 1, 2007 broadcasting from its operations centre at the Concorde Hotel Kuala Lumpur.
The joint venture agreement on the management for new station between ISY Holdings Sdn Bhd, chairman, Y.A.D Tan Sri Syed Yusof Tun Syed Nasir and Multimedia Distribution and Marketing, managing director Mr Steven Lim was signed today, to mark the start of a joint venture company, Capital FM Sdn Bhd, to manage Capital FM 88.9.
Y.A.D. Tan Sri Syed Yusof Tun Syed Nasir said “As a boutique – radio station, we are not here to compete with the other larger radio stations, but we are confident that Capital FM 88.9 can find its niche in the market”.
Capital FM 88.9 will be an important contribution to music and will make radio uniquely personal to local listeners.
Capital FM 88.9 will entertain and inform audiences with the best music of today and yesterday, drawn from a wide variety of genres that reflect contemporary society and our diverse form of musical expressions. Capital FM 88.9 is committed to providing a venue for local musicians and bands “through recordings and live, in-studio performances” providing them wide exposure that would not otherwise be available.
Beyond its musical palette, Capital FM 88.9 will bring news and information, with greater focus for a new audience of high driven, well informed and demanding listeners. Capital FM 88.9 will launch primarily as an English and Bahasa Malaysia music station with a limited number of newsbreakers, interviews and special features. While the music itself will always be primary, over time the broadcast schedule will become more complex, with added value like live performances, reviews, interviews and other features that will make the station increasingly distinctive and compelling.
Capital FM 88.9 is not going to have people with just bright new voice but creativity and talent to create unique formats and style and the station will also promote social responsible values

Boutique radio is basically a smaller radio station without the support of a large corporation like RT or AMP ( the astro radio stations).
ReplyDeleteCaptalFM 88.9 will have only 3 full time DJs , the rest will be part time and on certain non-critical hours the music will be by computer.
