30 SEPTEMBER 2008 | MEDIA PRIMA TO EXPAND ITS RADIO OPERATIONS

PETALING JAYA, 30 September 2008 – Media Prima Bhd (MPB) is expanding its radio business with an additional radio network with the proposed acquisition of “Radio Wanita Sdn Bhd” (RWSB).

MPB announced today that it has agreed to acquire RWSB through a conditional share sale agreement which will see MPB owning 80 per cent stake in RWSB for a cash consideration of RM12.16m less any current liabilities.

RWSB currently owns and operates a radio network, currently known as “Radio Wanita”.

“MPB currently owns and operates Hot.fm and Fly.fm and a third radio station would enable us to expand our offering to a wider segment of listeners, media buyers and advertisers,” added Abdul Mutalib.

MPB has rebrand Wanita FM to ONE FM and it's a chinese langauge stations. Now being trial test broadcast at Klag Valley over existing 88.1FM, Penang 88.7FM.

Official launch date is Jan 19, 2009, a week before 2009 Chinese New Year.
